Built By Glass was founded in 2015 with a straightforward premise: glass installation in the GTA was too often treated as a commodity trade — quick quotes, rushed measures, hardware chosen by price. The result was frameless showers that leaked, railings that moved, and installs that looked finished until they didn't.
We built our process the opposite way. Every consult begins with seeing the actual space before any measurement is taken. Panels are laser-measured after tile is grouted — never cut to drawings of a theoretical wall. Hardware is sourced exclusively from CRL, Richelieu, FMF, and Obsidian. And every installation carries a five-year written workmanship warranty that the company stands behind.
Eleven years on, the majority of our projects come through direct referrals — homeowners who saw our work in a neighbour's renovation and wanted the same result. Architectural-grade frameless shower hardware, glass clamps, pivot hinges, U-channels, and pulls. The North American standard for premium glazing hardware — CRL parts carry a lifetime finish warranty and are built for daily cycle loads glass enclosures actually see.
Richelieu Hardware
Specialty glass hardware, sliding door systems, and railing components sourced through Richelieu's Canadian distribution network. Faster lead times than US-only suppliers — which matters when the tile contractor is done and the client is waiting on glass.
FMF Hardware
Precision-machined pivot hinges, custom brackets, and pull systems engineered for high-cycle frameless installations. FMF components deliver the tight tolerances and finish consistency required when the hardware needs to disappear into the architecture.
Obsidian Hardware
Architectural hardware in matte black and dark-PVD finishes purpose-built for contemporary frameless glass design. Obsidian's low-profile clamps, standoffs, and sliding systems are specified when the hardware silhouette is part of the design statement.

Today, Jay personally oversees the Built By Glass standard on every site. He enforces the "measure after tile" mandate, guarantees the architectural tolerances of the hardware, and puts his name on the five-year written warranty for all 983+ completed projects.

Yes. Built By Glass is a registered business operating in Ontario and installs glass in compliance with the Ontario Building Code. All frameless shower enclosures use certified tempered safety glass, and glass railing installations meet the structural and safety requirements of OBC Part 9, Section 9.8. Every project is managed directly from quote through installation — the core work is never subcontracted.
Built By Glass operates to a founder-led standard — the person who consults your project is involved through to installation day. This is not a company where your job is handed off to a crew you have never met. The consult, laser measurement, fabrication coordination, and installation are handled with continuity from quote to completion. That standard has not changed since Built By Glass opened in Pickering in 2015.
Yes. Built By Glass provides a 5-year written workmanship warranty on every installation. This covers seal failure, hardware issues, and installation defects. The warranty is backed by the company directly — not a third-party service plan. If something is wrong with the work, Built By Glass comes back to make it right.
